Join us for a relaxed introduction to the art of crochet. This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to help you get started on your crochet journey as you learn the building blocks that form the foundation of all crochet projects. We will cover the fundamentals of crochet, including how to hold your hook, make a slip knot, and create basic stitches.

 Who’s it for?

This workshop is for absolute beginners

In this hands-on workshop we will cover:

·         Fundamentals: how to hold your hook, correctly connect the yarn to your hook and progress to some basic stitches

·         Tools and Materials: different types of yarns, hooks, and other supplies you'll need and how to choose the right ones for your projects

·         Basic Stitches: chain, double, treble (UK terms) / chain, single, double crochet (US terms)

The focus will be on practising each technique to build your confidence and create a small sample swatch in rows. By the end of the workshop, you'll have the basic skills and knowledge to commence your crochet journey.

Introduction to Granny Squares

One of the traditional foundations of the art of crochet is the classic granny square. Fun to make and easy to combine, granny squares form the basis of many projects. If you want to learn to crochet a granny square, join Leanne as she guides you step-by-step through the process.

In this hands-on workshop we will cover:

·         How to make a traditional Granny Square

·         How to join Granny Squares

This focus will be on the techniques needed to crochet a granny square. You will also learn how to change colours and join finished granny squares together. It’s a hands-on class, so there will be plenty of time to practice and ask questions.
