One of the traditional foundations of the art of crochet is the classic granny square. Fun to make and easy to combine, granny squares form the basis of many projects. If you want to learn to crochet a granny square, join Leanne as she guides you step-by-step through the process.

 Who’s it for?

Suitable for beginners, who have a basic understanding of crochet stitches and want to master the granny square from start to finish.

 In this hands-on workshop we will cover:

·         How to make a traditional Granny Square

·         How to join Granny Squares

This focus will be on the techniques needed to crochet a granny square. You will also learn how to change colours and join finished granny squares together. It’s a hands-on experience, so you’ll have plenty of time to practice and ask questions. By the end of the session, you’ll have completed at least one granny square to take home, along with the skills to make many more!

 Duration: 3 hours

Saturday 12th April 2025- 9.30am-12.30pm  

 Prerequisites:

It will be assumed that you are able to make a double crochet and treble crochet (UK terms) / single crochet and double crochet (US terms)

 

 What to bring:

·         Yarn of your choice – (we recommend two contrasting light colours in 8ply or 10ply)

·         Crochet Hook in size recommended for your yarn

·         Scissors

·         Stitch markers

·         2.5mm or 3.0mm standard crochet hook (optional)

 Yarn and hooks can be purchased on the day of the workshop.
