Fasten Your Seatbelts: Adding Fasteners to Your Knits

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready to add that perfect finishing touch to your beautiful knits with clean zippers and cute buttons!

In this class, we'll delightfully explore fasterners to your knitting projects, ensuring a professional and polished look. We'll cover everything from selecting the right fasteners to creating sturdy buttonholes and neatly inserting zippers.

Whether you're completing a cozy cardigan or a stylish bag, knowing how to properly attach zippers and buttons is essential for functionality and aesthetics.  

NOTE: This workshop will be held at the Grumpy Ginger Yarn Co. shop in the workshop room. The workshop will be conducted by Mieka John from Salt & Stone Knits virtually. Grumpy Ginger Yarn Co. staff will be present to facilitate the workshop.

Homework: Participants will receive instructions for a class project that we will add a zipper to and pick up stitches for a button band. 

Materials: Along with your homework, please bring a DK-weight yarn and US 6 (4mm) needles, sewing needle and thread, 12cm zipper and 4-hole-and1-inch buttons. 

A 10% workshop discount will be offered to class students on the day - this discount will not be applied to anything that is already reduced. Terms and Conditions do apply
